Yim's TaeKwonDo Kids Citizenship Awards Program

The Code of Yim's Tae Kwon Do Institute instructs students to "understand how to unite Tae Kwon Do into daily life."  In keeping with this principle, and with TaeKwonDo's focus on self-reliance, responsibility, family love and respect, Master Tim has created the Yim's TaeKwonDo Kids Program.  The program is designed to encourage the development of these qualities in our junior students.  Through the daily home practice of very simple and basic responsibilities, youngsters win special recognition and awards.  We hope that this system of positive reinforcement will be helpful to parents as it promotes behavior at home while preparing students to qualify for promotional testing to Black Belt Rank.

Youngsters thrive on the appreciation and approval they receive for their good behavior.  It has been show that training systems of this type enhance development of responsibility, capability, cooperation, helpfulness, and therefore increased self-esteem.  Greater self-esteem leads to better behavior!
